Over het project
When we expanded GymX, one of our goals was to create a second, significantly larger functional training area. Our existing functional zone was already very popular and, during busy hours, we needed more space to give our members greater flexibility and a better training experience.
At the same time, the growing popularity of HYROX gave us the opportunity to take the concept one step further. Instead of creating just another functional area, we developed a dedicated 200 m² HYROX training zone designed for both individual workouts and regular group training sessions.
A key part of the concept was a fully customised Sprinttrack measuring 13.5 × 3 metres, incorporating three individual 10-metre training lanes. The track provides a dedicated surface for sled pushes and pulls, walking lunges, farmers carries, sprint work and a wide range of functional and HYROX-specific exercises.
The Sprinttrack was designed together with the entire interior of the new GymX extension, so functionality and visual identity were considered from the very beginning. We created the graphic concept ourselves, while the Sprinttrack team translated it into the finished customised track.
Today, the track forms the centrepiece of a complete HYROX training area that also includes three rowing machines, three bikes, three non-motorised treadmills, wall ball stations and additional functional training equipment.
